Great Products, But Not An Advent Calendar

The products are fabulous, but I removed stars because this is not at all an advent calendar, which is the way it is being marketed. Last year, each item came in a lovely little numbered bag and it was a total surprise and delight opening one each day of the Advent season without knowing what might be inside. This year, it’s just a bag full of products and a sign that says”no countdown, no rules…open what calls to you….” Taking what you want, when you want it, is not at all what the season of Advent, or the Christian tradition of Advent Calendars, is about. It’s great if you want to sell a grab-bag of items for people to choose from at will, but if that’s what the product is, don’t market it as an advent calendar. I’m not sure how the content differs from last year because I’m trying not to look through it before Advent, but it seems like last year there were 24 “mini” items that were in the 24 bags and 3 or so full sized products that were just slipped into the big box. This year there are 24 products total, including a washcloth, which feels a little less generous for the same price. I’ll figure out a way to turn it into a calendar like it was last year (I may have saved the numbered bags somewhere), but I hope next year you’ll either go back to an actual Advent set-up or decide to market it differently.
