Its mattifying properties make Dr. Hauschka Melissa Day Cream a great base for make-up. The day cream also has a wonderful fresh scent, making it a popular product for men, too.
Melissa Day Cream calms while helping skin discover its natural balance. The melissa (lemon balm) plant has a centered structure that guides skin to a balanced state. Oily shine is controlled and dry patches are hydrated for a calm, radiant complexion. Melissa Day Cream is the ideal skin care product for sensitive combination skin with a tendency toward dryness, shine and redness.
Formulation: Extracts of melissa, daisy, anthyllis, witch hazel and carrot soothe and balance. Tapioca starch provides an even, matte appearance.

Ideal for daily use on combination skin. Each morning after cleansing and toning, apply evenly to face, neck and décolleté with a gentle pressing motion. In general, a pea-sized amount offers enough product. For maximum benefit, apply while skin is still moist from toner. If breakouts and frequent blemishes are a problem, substitute Melissa Day Cream with a mixture of Revitalizing Day Lotion and 1-2 drops of Clarifying Day Oil. Protect against light and heat.
In the evening after cleansing and toning, we recommend applying a Dr. Hauschka Serum for daily, oil-free night care. For advanced care, Renewing Night Conditioner or Sensitive Care Conditioner may be used for a 28-day period several times a year.
This day cream absorbs quickly and makes an ideal base for make-up.In the evening after cleansing, tone with Clarifying Toner then apply Night Serum as your final step.

Blemish free moisturizing for combination skin
Finally a moisturizer that my sensitive combination skin likes! My skin has become increasingly intolerant as I've gotten older, and even products I'd used for years cause breakouts and rashes. But the Melissa cream works! It's soothing and leaves a matte finish, which I like. And it smells mildly of citrus but not strong or cloying at all (I'm very sensitive to smells),. I'm so happy to have discovered it. It's especially good on top of the Clarifying Oil, which adds extra moisture during cold months. I've been using it for more than a year, and I never have any breakouts or red patches anymore. What a relief!

I have been using the Revitalizing Day Cream with a bit of Clarifying Oil on my T-zone. This is the first time I have tried the Melissa Day Cream. I don’t know how it will be long term but I think I will switch to it in summer as sometimes the Revitalizing DC seemed to leave my face a bit too shiny for makeup to adhere well in summer. I like the matte finish of the Melissa A LOT for the purpose of not needing powder to cut shine, or to just have a decrease in the shine that seems to develop on my t-zone in warm months. For dry winter months it seems like I maybe need a bit more moisture, so will continue with the Revitalizing DC until the humidity returns. Then I look forward to trying the Melissa DC daily!
