Your dominant temperament is sanguine.
Optimism, humor, and a generally upbeat nature characterize the sanguine temperament. You're positive, happy and bent on enjoying life.
Sanguines can actually carry the good life a little too far, partly due to intense curiosity. You want to study everything. Life fascinates you, and every subject seems to draw your attention. Consequently, it's hard to focus and stay grounded. This is the temperament associated with air, and appropriately enough, an overly sanguine personality can become impractical, flighty and a little to . . . airy.
Rx for balance:
When the sanguine tendencies are getting out of control, it's time to get real. A great place to start is with a Spruce Bath. The dense, resinous aroma of spruce essential oil grounds the senses. It strengthens our roots, our connection to the earth, awakening and restoring our practical nature.
Engage in activities that bring you back to yourself, to your body and senses. Try some regular, more vigorous physical exercise. Walk daily, putting a little vim and vigor in your step. Your diet should include more cooked whole grains and high-quality Biodynamic animal foods such as fish, eggs, turkey or chicken. Avoid sugar, alcohol and recreational drugs.

The concept of the four temperaments originated with the ancient Greeks, who based them on the classical elements of fire, earth, air and water. For thousands of years the temperaments have been adopted, adapted and refined by great thinkers, including 20th-century philosopher and scientist Rudolf Steiner, who referred to them frequently to illustrate his insights into human behavior and development.
It’s fun to identify your own temperament, but it’s also important to understand that each of us contains elements of all four. One almost always outweighs the rest at any given moment, and our behavior tends to reflect this “dominant” temperament. As with all things, the ultimate goal is balance. The object of this game is to have fun, help identify your dominant temperament and offer simple advice on how best to stay in balance and keep extremes from getting the better of you.
